Carol was tired of the London dating scene. Almost as tired as I am in

Carol was tired of the London dating scene. Almost as tired as I am in telling her story only to find my online story writing site has crashed once again and lost all my precious work. <wink>
She was tired of the clubs, the pubs and the empty pick-up lines. She wasn't interested in a fling -- she wanted a real relationship that would touch her heart and be the beginning of a life-long partnership.
After six years of london dating she was convinced she would find what she was looking for in damp, dreary old London, so she decided what she needed is a change a scenery, preferably to an exotic locale.
Problem was, Carol could afford a holiday on her meagre office assistant wage, but she faithfully combed the Sunday paper and travel sites on-line until one day an advert caught her eye.
"One Week in Malaga -- 69 Pounds Per Day -- All Inclusive." "I can afford that, " thought Carol. "Why, I end up spending that much when I'm in London dating and have to hire a black cab at the end of the night to take me home."
So, for two months Carol shunned the London dating scene and instead spent her nights learning Spanish on a free on-line language site even though all the travel brochures she read said English was freely spoken in Malaga -- after all, it was quite a popular holiday spot for sun-starved Brits and Irish -- especially in the winter months.
Instead of wasting money on travel books, Carol dusted off her old library card and every weekend she could be found immersed in the travel section of her local library making note of all the beaches, restaurants and sites she wanted to take in during her long-awaited holiday.
She skipped her morning latte at Starbucks and at lunch time she ate her lunch at her desk while her work mates went out for a bite at the nearest McDonald's.
In two month's time, Carol amazed everyone, least of all herself; she had managed to save enough money to book a week-long trip to Malaga plus had money to spare. She splurged on a new bathing suit and matching cover up -- the first time since she moved to London she had ever done so.
Finally, it was time for Carol to leave on her "Spanish Fiesta." She arrived at the airport nearly breathless only to be told at check-in that her flight was cancelled and it was the last of the season. She took a black cab back to her flat and spent the next week ina tanning booth.
