He had been gone a long time, On his way to a foreign country to visit his old mother. She was dying of cancer according to relatives but nevertheless she remained in the old house and refused medical care. It had been fifteen years since Derek had last visited Croatia. There was not much he recognized in this country anymore, apart from haunted the shortcut through the industrial area by his mother's house.

He remembers this shortcut from his teenage years where sexy half naked women would appear late at night. The transparency of their skin made Derek believe they were ghosts. They always stood there with a cute smile and signaled for him to follow them home and have raunchy sex in their bedroom. Derek was a young teenager back then and his mother had taught him that the only women he is allowed to have sex with are through dating women he truly cared about. His mother always brainwashed him into repeating the words "dating women you care about, dating women you care about and dating women you care about". This was the one rule he had back in Croatia.

As Derek arrived at the airport a small black cab approached him and offered to give him a ride to his destination. Before Derek had a chance to climb into the cab he suddenly heard the sound of an engine and after a while he also saw the flickering light from the headlights of a truck driving straight towards him. Derek did not manage to get out of the way in time and the truck smashed right through Derek leaving him laying on the sidewalks with two broken legs and his internal organs splattered everywhere. People screamed in panic and everyone started running in opposite directions with a look of fear in their face.

The truck driver quickly pulled his truck to a stop and climbed out of the front passenger door. He quickly scooped up Derek's lifeless body and hauled into the back department of his truck. Within 5 minutes the truck driver was gone and so was also Derek's body. Nobody quite understood the motive behind this gruesome murder and this was surely something that nobody would ever find out either. The news soon got back to Derek's poor mother that was battling with a rare form of cancer. Once she was told the news she instantly had a heart attack and died.
